Different interfaces and protocols

We offer numerous interfaces and protocols to ensure that your reader is optimally integrated into the existing system landscape and operates 100% securely at all times. OSDP offers the gold standard here. All sesamsec readers are available with various interface protocols for connection to our own ISE systems or for operation with various intrusion detection or access control systems.

By default, our readers work with our own sesamsec interface, which is known by the manufacturer Telenot under the name comlock. Therefore, all sesamsec readers are inherently 100% compatible with all complex or hiplex components from Telenot. In addition, we also offer Wiegand and RS485 with the various protocols such as OSDP, MODBUS, and CerPass. The interface protocols are uploaded during production and can be updated later in the field.

Multi- or single-frequency

Multi-frequency or single-frequency device? That depends entirely on the requirements. With multi-frequency devices, you are more flexible in the long term. Yes, the initial investment is higher, but over the lifecycle, there can be a significant total cost advantage—especially if requirements change dynamically. Or if there is a complex project that needs to work across multiple sites: MF devices are compatible with all common transponder technologies and transponders worldwide, giving you complete freedom with maximum security.

If you have a dedicated application that is not likely to change, single-frequency devices are an economical, reliable solution. However, SF solutions do not include any customization or other optional features. Sometimes, this is not necessary. Then you are solidly positioned with this solution. Single-frequency is also suitable for projects with several sites where different technologies are implemented, but which will continue to be used in this way.

Technology

Which transponder formats can your reader be combined with? A crucial question. Because the transponder systems have different degrees of encryption. And this, in turn, determines the level of security. The storage capacity is also determined by the transponder technology. In addition to classic transponder technologies such as Mifare or LEGIC for cards as identification media, mobile authentication via smartphone is gaining in importance. Bluetooth® BLE and NFC are used here, which communicate directly with the RFID reader. There is no longer any need for an additional identification medium, providing optimal convenience for users. Simply pull out your smartphone—done.

Housing Options

We offer a wide range of enclosures for indoor and outdoor use. All readers are manufactured in Germany and are therefore characterized by high material and processing quality. Whether on-site front panel, wall-mounting or flush-mounting: you will find the suitable design for every requirement at sesamsec. Our range consists of three enclosure lines, all completely encapsulated and suitable for outdoor use:

  • Classic is made of sturdy, weather-resistant aluminum
  • Securyt relies on toughened safety glass (ESG)
  • The Secvance line is made entirely of high-quality plastic.

To ensure that your sesamsec readers fit perfectly into the building design and match your corporate identity, we offer them in a variety of colors; custom designs are also available on request. In addition, we carry models that are precisely matched to common systems for smooth installation: e.g., from Siedle, Behnke or GIRA.

Due to our vertically integrated manufacturing, we are able to meet almost all requirements and special requests. The best thing is to talk to our sales department!

Keyboard

Whether a pure keypad solution, keypad combined with an RFID reader, or an end-to-end contactless authentication solution: all variants can be implemented with sesamsec.

Different keyboards are used depending on the project or customer requirements. The Classic line is based on stainless steel, and we also have models made of capacitive glass or plastic.

The stainless steel keypads can be used either as keypad-only solutions for code entry or with an RFID reader as a combination solution.

With capacitive glass, you have a choice: the keyboard illumination can be controlled via input or the twilight sensor, or it can come on during operation. Alternatively, permanent illumination is also possible.

Feedback on successful (or unsuccessful) authentication can be provided for all keypad variants either by integrated light signal (duo LED green/red) or by sound signal. All colors and the piezo sound generator can be freely controlled on-site.
